Charming and Fun! Who doesn’t love that?
One of our favorite wedding trends is the photo booth. Want to loosen a crowd up and get the good times started at your wedding? A photo booth is the way to go. And it’s a great way to remember who attended your wedding and to see them being themselves and getting silly. Lots of treasured memories can be made with a little planning.
#hashtag
Go ahead and come up with a fun hashtag. Everyone can take photos in the photobooth and use your hashtag to share them online. And you’ll have a nice collection of photos and get to see a lot of the moments you missed.
Be as creative or funny as you want, and make it personal! Are you football fans? Maybe incorporate a sports theme. #CarolAnneandWayneforthewin, or #TeamWilliams. Star Wars fans? #MaytheforcebewiththeHiltons, or #TheforceisstrongwithAdamandZoe. Fisherman? #BryanWontThrowThisOneBack, #TheCatchOfTheirLifeMadieandLogan.
Maybe you want something classic, consider using your names and the year, #ChrisandSierra2017. Some other fun ideas might be #AndtheOldsLivedHappilyEverAfter, #TheAdventuresofSandyandBryan, #TooLateToBackOutNowLandC, #MrAndMrsBaker, #MikeHeartsMelissa, #CelebratingWithTheCooks, #ScottandShellyGetHitched, #MasonPutARingOnIt. There are are random hashtag generators like this one online if you need more inspiration. Maybe there’s a song, or your wedding has a theme, maybe you have a joint hobby, think of fun ways to incorporate it.
This is Where Yard Sales Come In!
Now that you’ve come up with the perfect hashtag, consider a theme. Does the wedding have one? Do the bride and groom have something they really like? Maybe they love superheroes. Consider Clark Kent style glasses, capes and superhero costumes and t-shirts. Maybe make signs comic book style. “Boom!” “Kabam!”
Also, provide some chalk and chalkboards for guests to make their own signs. It’s easy to do this by keeping an eye out for picture frames at yard sales and just inserting chalkboard paper.
Maybe the marriage feels like a fairytale. When you’re shopping at yard sales, be on the look out for princess accessories, and Halloween costumes. Cloaks and capes. Nothing like a picture of a couple dressed like Royals and their mother-in-law behind them with a red juicy apple dressed in her cape and looking into a handheld mirror. Or the fairy godmothers all dressed up, Bibbidity, Bobbity, Boo!
If the couple loves a particular sports team, provide helmets, sporting equipment, pompoms, megaphones, stuffed animals, pennants, giant #1 fingers and stuffed mascots. These are pretty easy to come by at yard sales.
Is it a rustic or barn style wedding? A quilt or pallet can make a nice back drop. Rakes, shovels, wagon wheels, and rope could make fun props. Throw in some cowboy hats, maybe some bandanas and pop guns, could be fun.
A theme really isn’t even necessary, because randomness is very much smiled upon in photobooths. Grab a few picture frames from your yard sale collection, take out the pictures and use them as props. A chefs hat a mixing bowl, an apron and a whisk might be fun too.
Nothing like getting the cousins together from all ends of the earth and getting a picture. The whole family finding props that show off their personality’s best. Cousins with keytars and light sabers, and fedoras and fireman’s hats, cowboy hats and giant glasses, boas and cat eye glasses, Mardi Gras beads and fake mustaches, Santa hats and bunny ears, tricycles and fishing poles, tiaras and wands, witches’ hats and brooms. Be creative and get it all on the cheap at nearby yard sales.
Keeping it Contained!
While you’re yard sale shopping, keep a look out for suitcases, baskets and wooden crates. Big, retro looking suitcases make great places to store the props for the photo booth, as do baskets and wooden crates. You want it to be easy to pack up afterwards.
Enjoy!
You’ll have so much fun, and so will your guests when they search your hashtag in the days following the event. It’ll make that layover between flights to that wonderful honeymoon a lot more entertaining! You may even decide to print a photobook of the happy day.
If you have a wedding in the near future, now is the time to start visiting yard sales! You can score a lot of fun for very little money!
